The Eighth Thing & Invitation
When I had cancer I created a list of "Eight Things" I would accomplish if I survived. I have checked off "Seven Things" on the list! Only "One" left! The "Eighth Thing" is a powerful screenplay I began writing 22 years ago titled The Lead Guitarist. It was my first script and one with which I have a deep love and connection. Right now I am on a dedicated mission to make the movie happen. I've realized lately, this screenplay is truly like a child I have raised. The child is grown and ready to fly!
A good friend here in Sedona introduced to me a top-notch professional screenwriting consultant. She actually lives in Sedona! It has always been a dream of mine to have such a highly-qualified person take a look at "The Lead Guitarist" and offer me feedback and analysis. I wanted to make the script even more powerful and was totally open to suggestions! Here is an excerpt of her first email to me after her initial quick-read of the screenplay:
"Greg, I perused your script last night. It's very good. There is much greatness there. You know what you are doing. From what I see already, you have done a fine job."
These were wonderful words to hear! At that point, she put seven hours into a detailed analysis of the script. Afterwards, we met for three hours going over her notes (it was very exciting!). Then I devoted twenty-five hours into implementing her truly brilliant recommendations. This is her email after reading my re-write:
"Awesome job!!!!! It reads very well. Love the changes. Very nice work, Greg. I felt like I was reading a bought script!"
Coming from a person who has spent decades evaluating scripts and inspiring top screenwriters, this meant a great deal to me. Especially, given the solemn promise I extracted from her in the beginning that she would be totally honest with me! As you can imagine, I am pretty psyched!
The Next Goal!
This is where my invitation comes in. I have been out of the "business" (ex-actor) for close to 12 years—hard to believe it's that long! Unfortunately, my Hollywood contacts are just no longer current.
So the next step is to magnetize a powerful Film Literary Agent to flip out over the script and want to represent it!
The Invitation!
I would like to invite all of my wonderful subscribers for any support you could offer in creating a referral to a Film Literary Agent.
Here is my email and direct number: greg@sedonasacredjourneys.com & (928) 274-2427
I appreciate your support on this project (more than I can tell you).
Already Done! Already Accomplished!
A Ho,
Greg

Vortex Gregisms!
Several retreat clients suggested I write a little glossary of phrases I use on vortex experiences and retreats! I guess they get a kick out of them! Okay--why not!
All of these are spoken in quick excited tones--wish I had audio!
"Yeah-Yeah-Yeah, Cool!" - positioned a client perfectly on a vortex spot!
"It's Digging You!" - means the vortex energy is extending out and opening to client.
"Oh My Goodness!" - vortex energy surging up!
"Eyes Closed! No Peeking!" - wanting to make sure client stays focused and centered in the vortex energy.
And My Favorite:
"Are You Chewing Gum On My Vortex Experience!"
More later!

New & Old Stories
I've decided to include a favorite story from the archive in each newsletter. They are like old friend and always have a lot of wisdom to offer! I wanted to honor the spirit of this special one:
Commitment To The Rock People
A few nights ago I was watching the movie Forest Gump (tenth time!) and a rush of feeling went through me during the scene where he is running through Monument Valley. The rocks there resemble many of the red rock formations here in Sedona. It was a feeling of gratitude to be part of this amazing place called Sedona. It opened a door inside me to many realizations about myself and my work here in the Magic Kingdom...read more
New Cancer Healing Story:
The Day I Almost Gave Up
During my cancer journey, ten days into the radiation treatment it got very bad. About 8 pm that night, I felt an intense burning in the back of my throat. I was alone. Minute by minute it got worse; soon I felt as if someone was holding a hot poker against my throat wall. I was screaming in pain. These are not words of exaggeration, brothers and sisters. I have been through a lot of pain in my life but never anything like this. I was on my knees crying and begging to God to help me. To this day, I don't remember what happened or how I got through the night. I just knew one thing--this was it--I was done. I would call my radiation oncologist, Dr. Berson, in the morning and tell him I was stopping the treatment. In my mind, I started to make a plan to travel to the last-ditch clinics in Mexico. According to the statistics (which I usually ignored) I was at a 20% survival rate...(read more)

Recommended Movies
The Guitar
As a cancer survivor I found this movie very different and powerful. It follows the journey of a woman diagnosised with terminal cancer and her radical choices to live her last days doing exactly what she wants! It's at the video store now and I encourage you to rent it and cozy up with your partner and let yourself be inspired!
Once again I learned something valuable from listening to NPR (national public radio). On my way to Phoenix, I listened to an interview with the Director and Producer of a documentary called "The Cove" . Its about a cove in Japan where tens of thousands of dolphins are slaughtered each year. Why? This is where aquariums and other organizations from around the world procure their dolphins. The dolphins they don't take are killed in mass. Through covert and dangerous filming they were able to film these horrific happenings. No one knows about this cove, not even the Japanese government.
During the interview, they played a tape of the screams of the dolphins being murdered. Honestly, I couldn't deal with it, I had to change the station.
As the Director says, this is so frightening you can't really believe its happening. The movie has won every film festival award out there. It should be playing in a theatre near you.
Again, I will be totally candid with you, I am not sure I can go see this movie for the obvious reasons. But I think it's like so many things happening in our world, we can't turn a blind eye to it. I have petitioned to have it shown in Sedona. The day it makes it here, I will pray very hard to have the courage to see these horrors and then get inspired to do something about them.

Final Thoughts
In reading over the Newsletter, I noticed there was an interconnectedness between different sections. It certainly wasn't planned! "The Eighth Thing" connecting to my story about "The Day I Almost Quit." If I had quit that day. would have I survived and accomplished the Eight Things? Can't really know. And the connection between the movie, "The Guitarist" and my movie, "The Lead Guitarist" and Cancer--pretty wild!
Is there something to notice about the connective threads in this newsletter? Yes! They confirm I am on the right path. So if you are getting these kind of signs--Cool! Much like omens I get in the vortexes with clients. If you are not getting omens or connections maybe you are not on your path of spirit? Something to consider! As always, being in the "spirit of inquiry" is the warrior's way, brothers and sisters.
I hope you have enjoyed the new look of the newsletter. Special thanks to my jeti-master designer, Calvin Ki, for designing the banner and again to Michael Irvine for the use of his amazing photos.
I wish you all happiness!
A Ho,
Greg
